Nats vs. Braves Postponed - UPDATE
With the terrible weather in the DC area tonight, there won't be any baseball. The Braves are skipping Mike Minor and going with Beachy and Hanson for tomorrow and Sunday. As of right now there aren't details on a makeup game, but I'll update this post when that information is made available.
UPDATE: Still no decision on when the game will be made up, but the club has said that it will not be during this homestand.
Since I had an nice little segment written on Minor, I'm going to put it up even though we're not facing him to give you guys an idea of what could've been a fantastic offensive evening for the Nats:
I'm not entirely sure how Mike Minor still has a job. Actually, with Kris Medlen being sent to AAA to get stretched out, Minor may not be long for the big leagues, but that's neither here nor there. Minor over his last six starts, he's put up a 9.95 ERA, batters are getting on base against him at almost a .400 clip and he's got an OPS Against of 1.064. If there were ever a pitcher who could help the Nats get off a losing streak, Mike Minor would be the guy (David would say we're in Reverse Lock territory). Minor's last start was against the Nats, and he gave up four runs on six hits over five innings, escaping without a decision. Zim, Desmond and Espinosa are the only Nats who have faced Minor multiple times with Espinosa being the only one of those three hitting decently. The rest of the team did very well against Minor last week and will hopefully continue that trend tonight.
